Holy Family Academy seeks students who value their Catholic faith, who have a strong desire to learn, who want to seek the truth, and who are capable of doing the work of the Academy, demonstrating average to outstanding intellectual ability. The following requirements must be completed in order for Holy Family Academy to make a decision regarding the student’s admission. Holy Family Academy does not exclude children from other faiths but welcomes them in as much as they sincerely desire the education and formation offered by the Academy and join us in a spirit of support and respect for the Catholic Faith.
1. Attend an Open House:
Open Houses are held throughout the year beginning in the Fall. Click here for the upcoming dates.
2. Submit a Holy Family Academy application for admission:
Fee for application and test: $50.00
A $50.00 non-refundable application/test fee must accompany the completed application which must be submitted before taking the entrance test.
3. Take the Holy Family Academy entrance placement test.
The entrance placement test will be given on specified Saturdays (usually two weeks after an Open House) from 9:00 - 12 noon at the Academy. To register for the test, call the Academy at 644 - 7247 and leave a message including the student’s name, home phone number, current grade level, and current school or home-school. The completed application and accompanying fees must be submitted before taking the test. Please note: the student should wear appropriate school dress for the test.
4. Submit transcripts of grades and recommendation from current school.
Parents should complete the transcript request form and deliver it to their child’s current school. In addition, parents should request the principal/headmaster of the current school to complete the confidential School Recommendation Form and to mail it to the Academy. Please advise your current school to send the transcripts to the Academy as soon as possible. For home-schooled students a portfolio of their work is required (including their most recent math tests and at least two recently completed writing assignments.) If standardized testing has been done and/or report cards given, the most recent copy of these should be included with their portfolio. Upon admission to the Academy all students must submit a record of completed immunizations, or a medical or religious exemption.
5. Participate in parent and student interviews.
Each student and his parents must participate in a personal interview with either the administrator and/or a member of the Board of Trustees. The purpose of the interview is to discuss the philosophy of Holy Family Academy and the academic qualifications of the student and to ascertain whether the goals of the Academy are embraced by the parents and student. Both parents and student must sign the agreement to abide by the policies of the Academy.
