An Ideal Husband Spring 2012

“An Ideal Husband” - March 24, 2012: HFA's drama production this year was Oscar Wilde's "An Ideal Husband". It tells the story of a young member of the British Parliament, Sir Robert Chiltern (James Judd) who, despite his brilliant reputation and profession of moral rectitude, actually started his career by selling a confidential state secret. Mrs. Cheveley (Gaby Yahnian) knows his secret and blackmails him first for her own gain, but also in order to hurt his wife (Sarah Levesque), whom she has long detested. Sir Robert confides in his long-time friend, the charming and debonair Lord Goring (Nick Vicinanzo), who eventually saves him, and helps Lady Chiltern to love her husband despite his flaws. This year's production also starred Luke Planchet as Lord Caversham, Lord Goring's cantankerous and dissatisfied father, and Maria Turner as the charming and lovely Mabel Chiltern, Sir Robert's sister and Lord Goring's love interest.
