Día de los Muertos

  • Holy Family Academy 281 Cartier St Manchester, NH 03102 United States (map)

Día de los Muertos is a joyous celebration where we commemorate our departed loved ones and partake in the long-standing Mexican traditions that make this day unique. These include dancing, breaking a piñata, and eating traditional foods like tamales and pan de los muertos. The ofrenda, or altar, is the focal point of the celebration. It is adorned with marigold flowers and photographs of those who have passed away. Most importantly, we take time to pray for our departed loved ones to reach the beatific vision and pray that one day we may see it too.

Students are welcome to bring in a photo of a passed loved one to put on the altar.
